The Hallanshankers were a legendary ceilidh band, operating out of Glasgow, Scotland.
They acquired a fanatical following in the late 20th century ceilidh scene.
Unfortunately, hard drinking, drug use and, in some cases, an over-fondness for scones, led to their collective demise, in the early years of the 21st century.
They will be remembered for their strict adherence to traditional ceilidh form.
The Hallanshankers Memorial on the island of Handa, North West Scotland, marks the spot where the collective ashes of The Hallanshankers members were scattered in 2012 during a short ceremony.
